On July 9th, the 2025 "Maritime Guangdong Young Director Support Program" (hereinafter referred to as the Maritime Guangdong Program) hosted by the Yangcheng Evening News Group officially announced the top 20 short film projects. This year, the Maritime Guangdong Program received a total of 632 valid project proposals from around the world. After review, 587 proposals were deemed eligible, covering feature films, documentaries, experimental films, animations, and cross-media creations. This years selection shows significant growth in international participation, female director representation, and thematic diversity, while continuing to deeply explore local narratives from the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
