第二届北斗规模应用国际峰会上，为大家集中展示了北斗系统建设历程、北斗规模应用成果以及湖南北斗产业发展成果等内容，也介绍了“中国的北斗”如何成为“世界的北斗”，呈现了“天边的北斗”已成为“身边的北斗”。
近年来，北斗系统已广泛地应用于诸多领域，如交通运输、农林牧渔、应急减灾等。
在交通运输行业领域，北斗广泛应用于公路基础设施安全监控等业务，全面提升了交通信息化水平，并显著地降低了交通事故发生率。
通过北斗系统的短报文与位置报告功能，还可实现灾害预警速报、救灾指挥调度、快速应急通信等。
手机、可穿戴设备等北斗大众应用，已逐步成为近年来北斗应用的新亮点。利用北斗定位功能，可实现手机导航、路线规划等，使人民生活更加便捷。
The Second International Summit on BDS Applications intensively shows us the construction history of the BDS, the achievements of BDS applications, and the development achievements of Hunan Beidou industries. It also tells us how "Chinas Beidou" has become "the worlds Beidou" and demonstrates that "the Beidou in the sky" has become "the Beidou around us".
